99th European Orthodontics Society Congress
Dentaurum in action at the EOS in Athens
Publica: 10.07.2024
The internationally renowned annual congress of the EOS (European Orthodontic Society) was recently held for the 99th time in a row. The European Orthodontic Society's event brings together dentists from all over the world. The event venue changes every year within Europe, and this time the historic city of Athens was chosen. Dentaurum, which was also one of the exhibitors, had a successful time at the event. In addition to a booth with a prize draw, the company also presented an award that promotes young talent – the Dentaurum Knowledge Award – as part of the EPSOS (European Postgraduate Student Orthodontic Society) Conference.
Successful anniversary activity: Prize draw for 60 years of Orthocryl®
In addition to focus products such as the prime4me® RETAIN3R, buccal tubes, and the tomas® anchorage system, everything at the Dentaurum booth primarily revolved around the Orthocryl® acrylic system, which has successfully been on the market for decades and is a true legend. Visitors could find out information about the product range and take part in a guessing game with removable braces. The lucky winner will soon receive an attractive Orthocryl® anniversary package.
The EPSOS Conference celebrates its 20th anniversary
EPSOS is the largest orthodontic society for postgraduate students in Europe. Its conference, which began two decades ago, at the EOS Annual Congress provides young professionals with a unique space to exchange knowledge, network, and prepare for their future role in working life. This year, everything revolved around the topic of "Hypodontia" – the highlights involved informative teaching sessions by Dr. Spyridon Papageorgiou and Dr. Georgios Kanavakis as well as the presentation of significant research and case studies, with prizes being awarded.
As one of the world's leading companies in the dental industry, Dentaurum is aware of its responsibility for the future. "It is a matter close to our hearts to promote international specialists and to pass on our knowledge advantage through our extensive course and training program. Founded in 1886, we are the oldest dental company in the world that has existed continuously – and our company is still family-owned. This is both an obligation and an incentive for us," says CEO Mark S. Pace.
"EPSOS is an important part of our international network within the industry. Both sides benefit from new impulses for modern methods in orthodontic treatment. Together and in international exchange, we can learn from each other and actively shape the future of orthodontics. This philosophy connects Dentaurum and EPSOS – knowledge connects, knowledge creates trust, and knowledge is an important pillar of our long-standing company existence. Intensive cooperation with universities is an integral part of our research and development work and a source of inspiration for our innovations. With this in mind, we are very pleased to actively support EPSOS 2024 as a Platinum sponsor!" Pace concludes.
New knowledge competition motivates young researchers
The sponsorship is accompanied by a new award that rewards exceptional research: the Dentaurum Case Presentation Award was announced and presented for the first time. Diba Payandeh from Gothenburg (Sweden) was chosen as the winner by the EPSOS committee for her case report on agenesis. The lucky award winner received a gift certificate for an international tomas® course from Dentaurum. This will allow her to expand her knowledge of skeletal anchorage of mini implants in orthodontics.
