2025 is not only an IDS year, but also the year in which a Dentaurum product celebrates a round anniversary. The dental company is particularly proud to have had so many successful products on the market for many years that inspire customers worldwide. Dentaurum is celebrating a piece of dental history, including 20 years' tomas®. The tomas® mini pins were introduced two decades ago as a skeletal anchorage system for orthodontic treatment. The system has proven and continues to prove its worth thanks to its many application possibilities.
Easy handling, high reliability
The skeletal anchorage system tomas® (temporary orthodontic micro anchorage system) has been available worldwide for 20 years and is constantly being developed. It is one of the internationally leading mini implant systems for specific tooth movement during orthodontic treatment. tomas® is the pleasant alternative for moving teeth, it does not impair speech and has a 24-hour effect since it is anchored in the mouth. Extra-oral anchorage methods that are unpopular with patients such as headgear or Delaire face masks are now a thing of the past. Users value its easy handling and high reliability. Back then and today still, it is a modern and innovative therapy concept that has been clinically tested and has celebrated global success.
Complete system for every indication
The tomas® system has a solution for nearly every indication. With a set of instruments and accessories especially designed for tomas®, a complete system was created, leaving nothing to be desired. The perfectly coordinated components allow a variety of different applications. The mushroom-shaped head of the tomas®-pin EP means it is ideally suited for attaching elastic elements (for example springs, elastic rings, chains). The self-drilling thread eliminates the need for any pre-drilling of any of the pin versions, although it may prove necessary to perforate the cortical bone.
Combined with amda® (advanced molar distalization appliance), it offers a safe system for the distalization or mesialization of the upper molars. As a skeletal anchorage appliance it can be used for bi- or unilateral distalization or mesialization depending on how it is fitted.
Pin-Last© concept with the tomas®-RPE eyelet
With the help of the tomas®-RPE eyelet, skeletally anchored RPE appliances can be created using the Pin-Last© approach. Fitting the RPE appliance and the mini implant is possible in one appointment. An additional insertion template is not required. The tomas®-RPE eyelet serves not only as a coupling element between the tomas®-pin and the hyrax® expansion screws but can also function as a guiding element during insertion.
